April is National Kite Flying Month and many communities around the US are celebrating with kite festivals. April 2nd is WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY. See the links in recent blog posts about this tremendous day of information sharing, support, and reports of progress in this spectrum of disorders. Our Pastor – Rod Parley’s – son Austin has been healed of an autism disorder, the final symptom alleviated in March of 2010. With support, determination, and constant small works toward healing, Austin is whole! He’s 18, graduating high school in a few days with a 4.2 GPA, and has hic pick among colleges and universities to attend. Hallelujah!
April is NATIONAL CHILD ABUSE PREVENTION MONTH as well. Did you know that Patrick Stewart – Professor Sir Patrick Hewes Stewart OBE – is Chancellor at a University that offers scholarships to work to end violence to women, children, and everyone? See here: If It’s Not Scottish It’s… Of Course, Sir Patrick has played in some very funny roles and TV shows, including Extras on the BBC. This fits with April as National Humor Month. April also celebrates Poetry, Organ Donation, Celebrating Diversity, Gardens, Food, Mental Health, Older Americans, and Volunteering; and April 25 is National DNA Day.
