Six Stories Of Mars That Will Affect You

Japanese Space Agency (JAXA), NASA, and US Air Force formed a combined military air force or space force (the Japanese preference) in 2015. Plans are to begin operations to remove space debris (thousands of trashed items) sometime between early 2017 and 2019 (reference: hub.me/agIV8).

Japanese friends in the business call the aerospace frontier The Fourth Battlefield – according to Kelsey-Campbell Dollaghan in GISMODO under a heading at “Star Wars.”

It is a good place to gather additional tourism dollars as well – the Moon, Mars, Jupiter…

How do you feel about a combined Air Force?

The two nations have several aerospace projects already in spacecraft design and spacecraft component manufacture, forecasting hurricanes, and other space age concepts.

Many projects are ongoing or set to begin in the near future in the space above Earth. Find out more here. Captain Video, Space Patrol, and Star Trek are becoming more real than ever.

An enlarging technical college in Dayton, Ohio is offering a Short-Term Technical Certificates in 24 to 25 hours of class time. This is all part of the growing business in the Ohio Space Corridor that is now stretching into Indiana.

The certificate allows its holders to quickly secure entry-level technical positions in the field of the Helper Drone manufacturing and operation – search and rescue, agriculture, medicine and other supply deliveries, and other positive uses of drones.

Organized scientific projects join with Research Triangle Park professionals to link the Roanoke Lost Colonists and current descendants of early Native American peoples they met in. Some of the researchers are descendants, themselves.

The Croatan People are not extinct, either. Their descendants live in North Carolina today.

Evidence has been found in old and new maps of the area, archaeological artifacts, a buried fort on the 42-mile long Hatteras Island, and DNA markers, as well as oral histories of the descendants of mixed marriages among the English and the Croatan and other Native Peoples beginning in the late 1580s.

How will fast food as an industry handle the increase to a $15.00 per hour Federal Minimum Wage?

First off, many will simply close down. Others will limit their menus, offer additional or longer periods of Drive-Thru times and close the dining room early or go to All-Drive-Thru service. and some will raise menu prices too high.

McDonald’s has found that tactics that helped them absorb the 2009 Federal Minimum Wage Increase are not working now. Because of this, the company allegedly plans to eliminate part of its human crew members with robots – but, this is really still a rumor. Those few remaining humans would  be robotics technicians and that is a good thing, since that work requires more skills and a higher salary to go with them.

Will a Phoenix Arizona McDonald’s go all-robot soon? Probably not, but it’s fun to think about. After all, sci-fi author Arthur C. Clarke was the first to think up communications satellites (ComSats) and we have them all over the near-Earth cosmos now!

US National Book Festival, Historic Words And Reading Education

From Native American poetry to Classics, songs, and graphic novels, how can we not be proud of America’s literary development? Come celebrate literacy and literature of all sorts in DC this September 5, 2015 from 9am – 10 pm. Free admission!

This year’s festival is a tribute to the 200th Anniversary of Thomas Jefferson’s donation of all of his personal papers and books for the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress.  During the War of 1912 – 1814, the British burned 3,000 books belonging to the US Congress and took 10,000 American military and civilians captive, jailing them at Dartmoor prison in England. it was a horrible time.

Thomas Jefferson offered his personal library to replace those burned volumes, but it took us until 1815 – a full year after the war was over – to gain the release of all of our prisoners. Today, the British and filks all over the UK came to our National Book festival to speak, to sign books, and to visit the kiosks.

Times change, but books are always good.

Today, you may need to move to a different state in order to earn a livable wage. Luckily, America has several states that are good for your move.

At least 10 states have low unemployment rates, which usually means that they have not enough workers to fill advertised positions. They need more people to come into their cities to work.

Another several states are low in job competition, meaning that not so many are fighting for the same job there.

If you would like to move to another US State or from Canada to America, you may like the extensive information on how to begin and how to succeed at your quest, all presented at:

How to Find Work In Another State

Do you need a well-paying job and feel willing to travel to another state in order to secure it? Even if you are a worker ages 50 and older? It’s possible and it’s all taking place in Houston, Texas.

We know that Texas was relatively unaffected by the Great Recession of 2008 – 2010, especially in its major cities. All these cities are good places for workers of any age to find employment, including our senior citizens.

Many Seniors need to work past “retirement”, the definition of which is changing.

Did you know that under the Reagan Administration, the Social Security Retirement Age for full benefits was scheduled to increase to age 75?

That’s right! Younger Baby Boomers today may not retire until age 66 already, and some of them have received letters stating that they should not retire until age 70.

Regardless, many of our nation’s older workers want and need to work past age 62. Houston is the best city in the State of Texas to do so, because of the long list of Senior Resources available and the large number of jobs open. Texas is much more than big hats, longhorn steers, and horses.

And why not work, unless you can schedule a global tour to last about five years? I met a woman long ago who was in her 70s and working in a large department store in Downtown Dayton, Ohio. Sure, her hair was white, but her demeanor was that of a joyous young woman. I want to be like that!

Here is a snapshot of jobs most often listed in Houston, where we have over 70,000 openings in Early July 2015:

  • Healthcare and Healthcare Support offer over 49,000 openings in Greater Houston- Travel health professionals are dramatically in demand and these folks earn more than average and benefit from perks like mortgage payments!
  • Engineers are needed to the tune of 15,000 openings in various field from It to Healthcare to Oil & Gas. More thousands of technician’s jobs are attached to these engineers, especially in the Aerospace Industry.
  • Officer Support, Customer Service, and Call Center jobs number over 14,000. remember Dame Judy Dench’s character in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel – she became a call center consultant.
  • Business and Finance lists over 11,000 openings for auditors, accountants, and analysts.

Whatever your plans for the future and your retirement, if you need to work, you might want to get your self to Houston!

Business and Job Trends In Hawaii

In Hawaii, many Maritime, Healthcare, and Skilled Labor types of jobs are available, expanding in numbers, and forecasted by state and federal agencies to open many new positions through the year 2018.

Compared to the Continental USA, Hawaii has experienced more job creation in IT (Information Technology) and Healthcare Industries than the lower 48 states overall. Jobs such as ship engineers are expected to triple in 2014 and long before 2018, with a near-200% increase. Commercial fishing and international trade expansions make these figures even more realistic.
