Being a pastry chef or a desserts chef is hard work and patrons in all levels of dining establishments expect good fodd when they order. This is evident from the new Food Network series Chef Jeff.  The star of the show trains at-risk youth for culinary postions that are well paying and will lead to a good life that will keep the young people out of jail and/or out of low-paying jobs. It is hard work for all of the cast and crew as well as the weekly chefs that donate their kitchens during actual rush hours to film this reality show. However, the rewards are tremendous.

In dessert preparaton, a good chef needs some basic recipes that he/she can modify in a number of ways. I’ve experimented with several recipes on a Sunday afternoon and found that these are not so weird as recipes after all and are really very good.
