The man was cut diagonally from one shoulder, down the torso diagonally to his waist and he recovered. he needed intensive rehabilitation and a long time to be able to manage his ongoing pain. He did not return to the sawmill or logging, however.
In Season One of Ax Men, J.M. (Jay) Browning, one of the leaders in the Logging Industry on the West Coast, had an artificial hand to allow him to handle a chainsaw. His hope is to educate children and their families about the logging and forestry business and jobs in it, along with what is required to keep the country’s forests healthy and sustainable.
