What are those blisters on your legs, or those of your friend, spouse or partner?

If you have not yet seen such a thing, these blisters can be small or absolutely HUGE, taking up nearly the entire side of the lower leg or forearm. Whatever the cause, you want to get rid of them or help a friend if he or she begins to have them. Whatever the cause, do not pop these blisters.

Physicians and the American Diabetic Association state that these blisters are rare and that only reducing blood glucose (sugar) levels will make them go away. They can last from 2 to 4 weeks and heal on their own if not popped. If popped at home, they can become infected and result in a septic infection throughout the body. In fact, the wounds can actually rot holes in the extremities.

Is It Water Retention or Diabetic Blister Complication?

The three leading causes of these blisters are 1) DIABETES, 2) FRICTION (caused by shoes and boots), and 3) FUNGUS INFECTIONS. Read the comprehensive article at the link for more factual information. See why some people try to explain them away as “water retention.”  People with these blisters have been treated in a ghastly manner by others in the past, but they can receive effective help. Read all about it.
