Over 4700 jobs are open right now in and around Pearl City Hawaii and Pearl Harbor Naval Base and Hickam Airforce Base in Hawaii – military, civilian, and contractor jobs.  Air Force job listings increased 2320% from May 2008 – December 2009 and are increasing in early 2010. The figures for the US Navy add up to a 530% increase. Is this a sign of further US troop actions in the Middle East?

Pearl City – Fastest Growing Place in Hawaii

Pearl City is the fastest growing place in Hawaii, and not yet incorporated. It grew in residents by 4% from 2008 – 2009; over 10,000 current households and 31,000 people, with growing still ongoing. The sheer number of shopping centers on Route 99 is jaw-dropping, not to mention the success of Construction and Grocery businesses in Pearl City.   Healthcare and Sales positions are among the most often-seen job listings, as well as IT and clerical positions in and out of the military services.
