Tuskegee, Alabama — Just 20 miles outside Auburn, this city has increased jobs by 71o% in the 18 months ending at November 2009.

This is an incredible increase. Auburn is on the Forbes/com Top 20 College Towns, but as a nearby town and nearly a suburb, Tuskegee deserves part of this acclaim.

Tuskegee University and Auburn University are both colleges that partner with business and government to create jobs and educate more people. Many other colleges and career schools are in the Tuskegee as well.  Over half a million tourists spend dollars in town every year and the economy is growing.

Top jobs include education and healthcare related positions, management, business, and appliance installation and repair.
