  1. My son is 26 has NVLD and has been having job problems. He has co ordination and spatial issues. He lacks fine motor skills for writing. So physical work runs him down.
    He has gone back to school to improve his high school grades, and we are trying to search out a meaningful career path that he can study for.
    Has anyone here clicked on a job path that they could suggest for examination.

  2. Have you accompanied him to your local county Workforce Investment Act (WIA) office yet? They are required to have vocational counselors there that help assess individuals of all abilities and help find work for them. I wonder if there is some sort of front desk work he could do in a hotel or recreation center, for instance, that requires little computer work, but in which the computer would help build dexterity and perhaps some visual-spatial abilities. We used computers with head-trauma patients in this way.

  3. Hi thanks for the advice. We live in BC Canada and are in the wait line for Gov. funded help.

    • Oh gee, sorry about that, not realizing you are in Canada! BC may have better resources than USA for this issue and I hope your waiting period is not very long. Is your son working now and what type of jobs has he worked in the past? I can try to help think of solutions.
