In May 2012, America has over 30,000 Internships and 120,000 Summer Jobs listed for people of ages 14 through adult.

Many jobs are grabbed up for summer during winter months, particularly in January through March. However,  in 2012 new summer jobs and internships keep popping up in large numbers.

– The parent company of Spam, Hormel, contributes large grants to local universities and colleges to find cures for cancer through biomedical research. Along with this, new jobs are being created, the Downtown Austin area is offering new businesses and living spaces, and people are beginning to look at Austin, Minnesota in a new way. Food manufacturing is different from automobile manufacturing, but higher paid jobs are just as available. the 2012 Foodie Throwdown was suck a success that is declared an annual event, building on the success of the city’s two food companies.

With tax and rent incentives, crime half the rate of the USA overall, and a lower cost of living, Austin MN is attracting new businesses and new families to its location in Southern Minnesota. Lots of attractions and outdoor activities.

Summer Jobs Search Now

January and February are the months to look for and secure Summer Jobs in America. Don’t wait much longer. March will bring the last round of interviewing and hiring for many local companies in your city and then the next opportunities will occur in mid-June as workers quit to go on vacation with their families or to take other jobs or similar reasons.

It’s a good bet to lock in an internship for summer or autumn semesters of the 3rd and 4th years of college as well or to find a full-time employer for after your May or June graduation.

Let’s Stand Beside Elvis A While…

Many stories are published about Elvis, Priscilla, daughter Lisa Marie, and all the rest of the Presleys -  at Graceland, in Hollywood, and elsewhere.  Lisa Marie’s own daughter became a high fashion model at age 14. The whole family is famous and will probably always be in American music and fashion history.

What Elvis began in his short career touched America. It touched the whole world with an understanding and hope for the dream of the working man and working woman. It is a dream of success in a free land. – Can we still do that in the turbulent Early 21st Century?

This link above leads to a story about one blue-collar working friend of mine and all his journeys to Graceland, until he also died too young – just like Elvis. My friend was one of the best Elvis Tribute Artists I ever heard and I’m glad I told him so during the last substantial conversation I ever had with him.  That makes things a little easier now without him, but not overly much.

Rretirement AND Good Jobs – Brevard County

High Paying Job$ in Brevard County, Florida

Brevard County, Florida was named by Forbes.com as Worst Place for Employment (not true today, though) and the very Best Place to Retire in America.

However, I find amassing numbers of jobs in Brevard County for Healthcare, IT, and positions related to the Aerospace Industry, the US Mission to Mars, and privatized space flight . Renewable Energy jobs are coming out of Melbourne FL nearby on and around solar farms across the Southeast USA.

The federal and local governments as well as contractors and various commercial concerns are serious about advancing the role of space flight in America’s future and new businesses and jobs are emerging based on this intent.

I find that the cities and towns of Brevard County are really all good for any of the stages of life and work. Lots of Ohioans are moving there for work, retirement jobs, and just to retire. Perhaps you will as well.

The Isle of Eight Flags – Jobs and Fun

The Isle of Eight Flags is Amelia Island in the northeastern part of Florida. A bueautiful corner of the state, it is full of green space, parks, and beaches.

Some are surprised that 15,000 jobs are listed at Amelia Island in August 2011. Further, many of these positions are in the high-paying industries of Commercial and Investment Banking, Food Services and Catering, and Surety Insurance. The numbers of jobs listed on here jumped by a staggering percentage from Spring 2010 to Spring 2011 and they are still increasing.

Amelia Island is great for retirement as well as work, and it is a popular tourist locations although not so overrun with people as to be uncomfortable. A lot of music festivals honoring different genres occur here and arts and culture are important, as are outdoor sports.
