The Recession of 2008 – 2010 is reportedly over

…according to the US Federal Government, but if your state or city seems stuck in the recession and can’t get out, here are some tips for finding a job and keeping it, even during a recession.

ADDITIONAL TIPS FOR LIVING IN A RECESSION

Pre-Employment Credit Checks Eliminated State by State.

Credit checks  for grounds for employment or not are invasive and can be discriminatory. They are not a legitimate item within the procedures used for pre-employment investigations or background checks, unless used inn cases of banking and government positions.

Financial background checks for everyone in any job application have angered increasing numbers of long-term unemployed job seekers from 2000 – 2010 in America, with sound reason. As they are eliminated by laws in each successive US States, residents of other states wonder when their state will take such action.

Analysts have found, from examining many corporate employment records across the country, that a personal credit history containing problems does not correlate with financial/material dishonesty on the job or with poor overall job performance. This is especially true in cases that occur during recessions – like the Recession of 2008 – 2010, which is still wreaking havoc with US residents’ lives.

Government labor statistics show that from January through the end of April 2012, over twice as many women were lost out of the workforce as were men.

While men lost jobs to women in 2009 and part of 2010, the reverse trend began in 2010 and continued into May 2012. By May 2012, over 488,000 women had become unemployed since January 1. During that same Period of time, fewer than half as many men (net loss) became unemployed in America: about 185,000 men.

! Some very bad and strange advice is showing up on major Internet News sites and it should be avoided. Once piece of advice I just saw was that we should not wash food items in the kitchen sink, because it puts germs into the sink.  Unless we purchase all of our produce at the farmers market or grow our own, the vegetables and fruits need to be washed. Where shall we do this? Do we not always wash out sink out  daily as well? Strange advice.

That for employment success is equally as odd –

I ask you – would you go into a new job your first day and set your own hours without telling anyone what they are? Picture the rest of the office or the factory working set hours and becoming suspicious of yo immediately.  “What’s he going to steal?” they might ask. “Why’s HE so special?”

If you follow some of more of  the bad advice about working that is posted on the Internet, you will end up fired, sick, or dead:

February 20, 2012 is the 50th Anniversary of Colonel (then Major) John Glenn’s first American space-faring orbit of Earth. In addition, 2012 is the 50th Anniversary Year of the Kennedy Space Center that is next to Cape Canaveral US AF Station in Florida. From the Wright Brothers first flight in 1903, America orbited the Earth in 1962, just 59 years later. In just 66 years after the Wright Flyer succeeded at Kitty Hawk NC, we were on the moon.

Retired US Senator John Glenn is 90 years old and an adjunct professor at The Ohio State University. He will participate in NASA’s Future Forum there on February 20-21 in 2012 to celebrate his Anniversary of Orbit and to advocate for science and space business in the future of America.  Senator Glenn and former Mercury Astronaut Scott Carpenter visited with Kennedy Space Center staff and over a hundred people that used to work on the Mercury Project in the 1960s.

From now on, Ohio Governor John Kasich has ensured that John Glenn has his own holiday, signing the proper legislation to enact John Glenn Friendship 7 Day for every February 20.

Some History of the Friendship 7 and the incredible Discovery 7, some 36 years later.
