The Film and Arts community in Detroit, Michigan is thriving, despite the loss of other types of businesses from the city. The restaurant scene is still full of good places to eat any meal.
To restore some of Detroit’s former economic strength, we need large and small businesses to come in and families to move into Detroit, likely with the encouragement of tax and mortgage incentives.
In July 2013, over 85,000 job vacancies and increasing were listed for the city – the most in several years. However, Detroit does not have the trained workers to fill them. Many of the jobs involve Heathcare, Engineering, and Technologies. New businesses are starting up with the helo of crowd-funding as well.
There is an answer out there somewhere!
